Completely different to both A-Levels and full-time college courses, an apprenticeship will give a real job, high quality training that meets industry sector skills standards and levels of competency. What’s more, successful completion of the apprenticeship will give you valuable credits, which can be used against future degree level qualifications, such as HNCs, foundation degrees or higher apprenticeships.
At West Kent and Ashford College, we offer apprenticeship programmes across a number of different sectors, including business and professional services; construction; engineering; catering and food preparation. You can benefit from a complete recruitment service to help you secure your first placement; working with employers to help them fill their vacancies.
You will be assessed on-the-job by people who have worked within the industry, giving you a structured qualification that is relevant to the job you’re doing and the skills you need to do it well. The apprenticeship could include support with English, maths and ICT qualifications, as well as additional training that is relevant to your job.
As part of the Hadlow Group we also offer – through our sister organisation Hadlow College – specific rural-focused apprenticeships in greenkeeping, grounds maintenance, agriculture and production horticulture. Clients include international golf courses and Premier League football clubs.
