Clarkson Evans is a national electrical contractor that specialises in wiring new homes for all the major housebuilders. With a booming order book in Milton Keynes the company is looking to recruit around 10 electrical apprentices during 2018. Last year three apprentices were recruited at the National Apprenticeship Show! Vacancies are advertised on the Clarkson Evans’ website throughout the year with candidates expected to apply online. Those that are shortlisted are invited to an assessment day, where they will undertake a practical test and simple maths and English assessments.
Named as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer, Clarkson Evans has won numerous awards for the quality of its apprenticeship training. Not only that the company won the title of Construction Industry Employer of the Year at the recent “On the Tools” awards.
There is no upper age limit for would-be apprentices at Clarkson Evans. In fact, many apprentices join the company having decided to switch careers in their twenties or thirties.
Uniquely the company provides its apprentices with the opportunity to earn a monthly bonus, helping to boost earnings and motivate staff. Another bonus is the long-term career opportunities available after apprentices qualify as electricians – 80 per cent of the company’s team leaders and managers are former apprentices.
