The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is the UK’s agency responsible for collecting and supplying hydrographic and geospatial data to mariners and maritime organisations across the world.

Based in Taunton employing c900 people, the UKHO supply defence and the commercial shipping industry, help ensure Safety Of Life At Sea, protect the marine environment and support global trade. Working with other national hydrographic offices, they set and raise global standards of hydrography, cartography and navigation. Their market-leading portfolio of ADMIRALTY Maritime Products & Services has been relied upon by mariners for over 200 years, and can be found on over 90% of the world’s ships trading internationally.

The UKHO is currently offering apprenticeships across different areas of the business, designed to provide valuable experience and develop talent in specialist skills areas.

Roles on offer include business administration apprenticeships across customer services, corporate and marketing communications, procurement and commercial business areas, as well as professional apprenticeships in human resources, cyber security and IT. From 2018, the UKHO will also offer data analysis apprenticeships.
