Clarkson Evans is a national electrical contractor based in Gloucestershire that specialises in wiring new homes for all the major housebuilders. With a booming order book, the company recruits electrical apprentices throughout the year.
Vacancies are advertised on the Clarkson Evans’ website with candidates expected to apply online. Those that are shortlisted are invited to an assessment day, where they will undertake a practical test and simple maths and English assessments.
Named as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer, Clarkson Evans has won numerous awards for the quality of its apprenticeship training.
There is no upper age limit for would-be apprentices at Clarkson Evans. In fact, many apprentices join the company having decided to switch careers in their twenties or thirties.
Uniquely the company provides its apprentices with the opportunity to earn a monthly bonus, helping to boost earnings and motivate staff. Another bonus is the long-term career opportunities available after apprentices qualify as electricians – 80 per cent of the company’s team leaders and managers are former apprentices.
Once qualified many former apprentices earn higher than average salaries allowing them to quickly afford to buy their own homes.
As well as electrical apprenticeships the company also has apprenticeship roles in business administration, HR, accountancy and warehousing.
